Madolo抯 Retreat is situated more inland, so the climate is warmer than at the coast and the campus is much smaller.

Computers
There are four computers and one printer available for student usage. Just like in Port Alfred it is advisable to bring your own laptop. There is limited internet access on campus but students will be taken to Port Alfred at least every two weeks to use the internet
facilities there.

Dining room
There is a dining room on campus where three meals per day are served for students. At set times, students can take breakfast, lunch
and dinner from the buffet and enjoy the meal while chatting with other students. (The price of the three meals a day is included in the costs package)

Electricity
All Dutch appliances work in South Africa. Even though the electricity voltage is the same you may have to get an appliance adapter (with three round points). These adapters are quite cheap and can be bought in all supermarkets. In the Eastern Cape the power
supply is in pulse form and that means that the strength fluctuates. Most laptops have a built in protection for this, if you want to make sure that your laptop has that as well you can contact the suppliers of your laptop.

Laundry
There is a washing machine for students at Madolo抯. Please be aware that the water quality differs from European water. It might happen that your clothes change a bit as a result of this. Our sun is also very harsh and may cause clothing to lose some of its
brightness. It is your responsibility to organize your laundry, at no extra cost to you.

Leisure
There is a swimming pool on Campus, which can be enjoyed during summer / winter. The nearby Bushman Sands Hotel in Alicedale offers golfing opportunities on their 19-hole golf course. They are also equipped with a fitness centre and a spa, should you be in the mood for a body treatment. There is one big television and an audio set in the dining/living room but there is no television in the
rooms.

Library
There is a library in the classroom, which provides all necessary books, articles and DVD抯 for your studies.

Mail
There is a post office in Alicedale where you can post your letters, packages etc. Incoming post can be picked up here. However, posting your package in Alicedale may take a few extra days compared to posting a package in Port Alfred.

Rooms
Only double rooms are available on campus. Accommodation has to be planned ahead and you are requested to mention, during one of the meetings, with whom you would like to share a room. Moreover, all rooms are spacious and have their own private bathroom
including a shower and a toilet. The rooms will be cleaned for you (if tidy) and fresh linen and towels will be supplied during the course of the week.

Telephone
There is a public payphone for students to call home or even to be called at Madolo抯. Coins or telephone cards can be used. Telephone cards are available at the post office.
